– 5 colors of yarn of your choice

– safety eyes 7 mm
– rouge (for the blushes on the cheeks)
My Little Easter Chicks are about 10 cm high.
Yarns
I used the following yarns:
Yellow / White for the head, body and wings,
Phildar Coton 3, colors: 63 yellow and 10 white (+/- 30 gr)
Orange for the beak and legs, Catania, color: 189
Blue / Pink for the bows, Phildar Coton 3 colors: 39 blue and 57 pink
Abbreviations
Sc= single crochet
Dec= decrase
Inc=incrase
mr = magic ring
The amount of stitches is indicated between brackets behind each row.
Head and body
We crochet the head and body in one piece, starting with the head.
Make a ring / mr with yellow / white.
1.6 sc in the ring / mr and pull the loop tight.
2.2 sc in each sc (12 sc)
3.2 sc in each 2nd sc (18 sc)
4.2 sc in each 3rd sc (24 sc)
5.2 sc in each 4th sc (30 sc)
6.2 sc in each 5th sc (36 sc)
7.-9. 36 sc (3 turns)
10.2 sc in each 6th sc (42 sc)
11.2 sc in each 7th sc (48 sc)
12.-14. 48 sc (3 turns)
15th and 8th sc together (42 sc)
Crochet every 6th and 7th sc together (36 sc)
Crochet every 5th and 6th sc tog (30 sc)

Place the eyes between round 13 and 14 with 7 sc
spacing and stuff the head firmly.

Fill up the body firmly

Close the body and cut the thread.
Wings
Make a ring / mr with yellow / white.
1.6 sc in the ring / mr and pull the loop tight.
2.2 sc in each sc (12 sc)
3.2 sc in each 2nd sc (18 sc)
4.-5. 18 sc (2 turns)
6.crochet together every 2nd and 3rd sc (12 sc)
7.-8. 12 sc (2 turns)
Close the wing by 6 opposite to crochet or sew together.
Cut the thread. Make sure you have enough wire left to sew the wings to the body.
Make another 1. Place the wings level with row 22 of the body.
Beak
Make a ring / mr with orange.
1.6 sc in the ring / mr and pull the loop tight.
2.2 sc in each 2nd sc (9 sc)
3.9 sc
Cut the thread. Make sure you are left with enough thread to sew the beak on the head.
Place the beak between the eyes at row 14 and 15 of the head.
Legs
Make a ring / mr with orange.
1.6 sc in the ring / mr and pull the loop tight.
2.2 sc in each sc (12 sc)
3.2 sc in each 2nd sc (18 sc)
4.-5. 18 sc (2 turns)
6.5 sc, 4 dec, 5 sc (14 sc)
7.3 sc, 4dec, 3 sc (10 sc)
8.-11. 10 v (4 turns)
Close the leg with 5 single crochets. Cut the thread and make sure you have enough wire left over to sew the legs to the body.
Place the legs at the height of row 5 (from the bottom counted). See picture.
Bow tie
Make a 7 ch chain with blue / pink.
Start in 2nd ch from hook and crochet 6 sc.
2.-10. 1 ch, turn the work over, 6 sc.
Cut the thread. Fold the bow in the middle, tie some yarn around the bow and fasten it with a few stitches.
